I'm with everybody else - don't test it out. I usually took a test the morning of my blood tests just so I'd get the news on my own timeline and not spend all day waiting for a phone call. Are you on progesterone? Sometimes on progesterone I didn't get my period until I'd stopped taking it (although sometimes I did. Consistency, at least, body?!?!)

You already received great advice and I am going to pile on and agree 100% with those who advised you not to test it out. But can your doc schedule a beta? It would drive me crazy to just wait for my period to be late!

@mrskansas: @MaryM: @snarkybiochemist: Thank you so much for your input! Really. You have helped firmly decide to go with my initial gut feeling to not test!

I don't have a Beta scheduled with my fertility doctor for this cycle, she said to wait and see if my period comes and test at home if I'm late. Maybe because this is my first monitored cycle with her? That was why I was wavering on the testing it out part though. But I really don't think I can handle emotionally seeing it be positive and have it not really be. After all of the longing I've done for the other line to show up, that just sounds like a mean and evil torture device to me right now... :sad:

I never tested it out, it wasn't worth it for me to watch it change and try and interpret if it was darker or lighter. I used a trigger 3 times, the first two cycles I tested the morning of my scheduled blood test with the RE, figuring that it would make the call easier knowing in advance and then I would be bummed with a negative but also holding on to that last tiny bit of hope that maybe I am just one of those people who doesn't metabolize HCG into their urine effectively. The cycle that I got pregnant I only had an FRER in the house and refused to buy more tests or waste that on a negative, so I waited and POAS after I got the call from my doctor saying positive from the blood work. This way it felt a little bit more normal but I wasn't disappointed. You know yourself best, but I think testing out the trigger or even testing before a blood test can be really hard.

I used HCG for several months, and sometimes I tested it out, sometimes I didn't. I think either way it's hard.
The first month I used it, I tested positive all the way up until my period started. So that was frustrating. But when I didn't test it out, I'd doubt any test line I got after that.

I didn't test it out the month I got pregnant and wasn't totally sure I was pregnant because of it (and some really confusing charts that month). I had to rely solely on the darkness of the test line.

When I did test it out, I tried to minimize the craziness by starting around 9 or 10 dpo (because it would obviously be positive any earlier) and testing every other day so that the fading was more obvious

Don't test it out. I had the trigger shot three months in a row and each month it stayed in a different amount of time and each month it was a complete mind f#ck. It can even fade out and then come back and still not be a true positive.

You'll be much better off if you can wait until your blood test and not drive yourself crazy comparing lines and testing multiple times a day.

Good luck girl! :heart:

Last night my husband and I experienced our very first trigger shot experience! {They need to add "chug a glass of wine before your no-experience-with-anything-medical-at-all husband stabs you with a needle" as step one BTW}

I have gone back and forth a million times about whether or not I should start testing with Wondflos until they go negative or just to wait until my next cycle is due/if it comes late and start testing from there... I'm not normally an early tester, or I really TRY not to test, because I learned that for me seeing a negative test hurts more than seeing my period so I try to avoid them- if I can hold on to the willpower that month of course. But I'm TERRIFIED about seeing a positive and it just being leftover from the trigger shot!! I've never had a positive pregnancy test before and so I'm also worried it would be heartbreaking to watch them go from positive to negative... and not see it then become positive again for real.

Does anyone have a recommendation of what they did/do, or what they wish they would have done?? I am trying to protect my heart as much as I can in this process and I am afraid both options scare me right now. :bummed:

I read about the half-life of Ovidrel and I made myself an outline of when it SHOULD be out of my system but I also read on another post that it was still coming up positive 3 days after they tried that!

I could really use any and all advice here. I'm feeling overwhelmed! {and terrified and trying to stay hopeful while not getting my hopes up and trying not to lose my shit on everyone and trying not to cry every 30 minutes and... haha} Thank you SO MUCH in advance!
