I have some leftover meds depending on what you would need - but they are mostly for pre/post transfer. Estradiol patches and some endometrium suppositories?

I'm happy to send you anything I may have left after my current round. I just started injections last night and will be done in a couple of weeks. I'll know then if I have anything left over.
I don't plan on doing another round after this and if I do my insurance covers my meds anyway (it's the only thing they do cover).

I'll email you when I'm done for your mailing address if I have anything.

oh this just makes me so sad. we've spent a small fortune on ttc, but thankfully our meds are covered (except for co-pays) by insurance. i mentioned this on another board, but we actually have a few left sitting in our fridge right now - i would more than happy to donate them to you if they are something that you need. it certainly wouldn't be all of it, but i am assuming with that cost, anything could help. there's no real need for us to keep them since we would just be re-prescribed if we ended up needing another retrieval, but I just can't "throw them away"

Sending hugs your way, it is quite the journey!

@ninagrows: There is a group out there called 'Beat Infertility', which has a ton of resources as well as a podcast on a range of topics. I found it super helpful and the ladies so supportive during our infertility struggles and IVF.

https://beatinfertility.mightybell.com/home

For the overfill, the Gonal F and Follistim pens actually have more meds within them than what it says. So, you actually need to buy less pens than you think (since you can use that extra med). This was something that I wrote in another group: This has been my experience (I'm buying meds now for my 2nd round): follistim and ganirelex is cheapest at Winfertilty than anywhere (except out of US)! But menopur, gonal f, HCG/Novarel and others are cheaper at Freedom. I paid about $2,700 for my first round and will spend about the same on my 2nd round. Winfertiliyt will not give you individual pricing on their meds, but i was able to figure it out. $205 for 300IU. Keep in mind that each 300IU of Follistim actually has 420 IU. So, you can actually get less vials when considering the overfill. if you have specific questions, feel free to message me..i figured out some tricks to get the cost down

Also, I would recommend buying the gonal F or follistim (these are interchangable, so buy which ever you can get the cheapest) in 300IU pens vs 900IU pens. You do this because each pen has the extra medication, so the more individual pens you have, the more "extra med" you have. That way, you can buy less pens and save $. For example, I think that I was prescribed 10 - 300 IU pens (3,000 IUs); however, since I bought in pens of 300 and knew that each pen actually had 420, I only needed to buy 7 or 8 pens. I was able to save quite a bit of $$ this way. It can be difficult to calculate, but I think that I purchased enough meds for 10 days.

I would also suggest looking into overseas pharmacies. I don't have any personal experience with it; however, know of several ladies on hellobee that did and everything went great.

Good luck!

Have you called around to get quotes from several places? Prices can vary so widely between pharmacies. Also, the initial order might be way more than you end up needing, so maybe only order half or three quarters at first, as you can always add more and get it shipped overnight.

I've never used it, but I've seen people mention http://www.freegaragesale.com/medical.htm on resolve boards. Also check out ivfmeds.com or ivfpharmacy.com to order overseas for about 50% of US costs.

Similar to northstar's suggestion, I was in a Facebook group for infertility in my city (I'm in a large city) and people frequently post asking if anybody can donate extras of certain meds. There are frequently people willing to help out and there is the added bonus of being able to pick up the meds locally. Maybe see if the closest large city has an infertility Facebook group as well.

@meadow: omg! I'd be upset! They wouldn't let you keep them?

I received almost $2,500 in donated meds for my second retrieval, which was amazing.

@ninagrows: I don't know of any specific groups. You can check the beat infertility group to see if anyone has any leftovers to donate. I would give you some, but I don't have any leftovers. :crying: also, do you know about the overfill for gonal f/follistim?

This post makes me sad. After we got our :bfp: I asked if we could donate our extra meds....the doctor said ok....but a week later when I stopped in to drop them off, the clinic had a new rule against accepting them....took them and disposed of them!!!!!!!!!!!

I sincerely hope you find a program where you can get discounted or donated meds!!
