I have PCOS and was first on clomid and then on letrozole and I constantly had tons of tiny follicles that never went anywhere. My AMH has gone up though in the last two years (not sure why) so hopefully I have more. I just can't believe for that particular age group you need over 10. I know having 5 or fewer isn't so great, but I would think the study would allow (in that age group) 7 or 8 or more. Also, I would think many people in the 35-42 age category who make it to IVF would be outside of those parameters.</p> <p>I actually don't know what my AFC was when I started. I just looked back through my online record and on my original scan before starting IVF they don't list what my AFC was. I don't have my AMH number, but my FSH was 6.0. To be 35-42 and have an AFC that high...means they're testing the drug (that's what it is, right?) on patients who are outside of the norm and not low responders. </p> <p>My AFC was 5 at 31 and stayed that way every cycle. I just don't think I'll have enough. What's strange to me is that this particular study is for women 35-42, so you would think most women in that age bracket would have less follicles. In fact, I just read a few minutes ago that the average mid 30's patient has between 5-10. That makes me think not many women would even qualify for this study? I don't know...just feeling down today and really worried that I won't be able to do it. If not, we'll need $16,000 which we don't really have right now. :(</p> <p>So can you tell me your age and your AFC (and FSH and AMH, too) before you did IVF? Thanks! </p>
