It’s like his body gave him a heart attack effectively sacrificing his life in order to save his family from a fire. Such a “Jack” thing to do. Also, since he died of a massive heart attack, I think his death was imminent regardless of the fire. The stress on his body from the fire just brought it on sooner. The plots, the lines and everything about it is written to make us cry. I was also furious he went back for the dog. I love my dog dearly - but I'd be livid with my husband over that. During the commerical break that follow I made sure to let DH know that while I love our dog our children and him come first. I enjoyed the fake-out with Randall's family, though. I like it when this show really plays with the timeline to subvert our expectations (like with the crock pot last week). </p>
