The cliches in the video (galloping horses, wind in the hair, dramatic landscapes, etc.), having the video debut on Ellen of all places-- kind of a mockery of the whole thing. It's not my analysis that I'm linking, but after watching the video the first time (and before reading anyone else's opinions of it), I felt the same way.
