I feel that J&J runs large in pants/shorts and true to size in tops.

I find its kind of all over the place sizing wise. My daughter can wear anywhere from 12mos to 2T in their clothes. She's long and lean- so we struggle with fit in a lot of clothes.
I did like you and bought way ahead of time during one of their sales. I found their bikinis are awkward sized- super small tops and too large bottoms.
Love their dresses though. My 2 yr old still fits 12-18 month dresses by J&J

@Modern Daisy: I do have some shorts from J&J ( i am a sucker for anything embroidered or madras plaid) and the waists have the adjustable buttons on the inside, which can be a pain in the rear to adjust the first time, but once you get it right, they do stay up.

@looch: ditto.

K is just starting to grow out of her J & J 0-3 months clothes and she just turned 4 months. I think she's about 40-45% for weight and heigh right now from my own measurements.

This is very helpful! So future LO will be around 10 months when the weather starts getting hot here and he'll need to fit in the clothes from probably 10-13 months of age. I was thinking of buying all 12-18 months sizes and was worried that maybe I should go even bigger, but I gues I should stick to that size?

Has anyone purchase shorts for their baby boy from J&J? I noticed they don't have elastic waists - so am I safe with teh 12-18 month size? (assuming my LO is somewhat average sized?)

They run large/true to size. During my son's first year, he'd be say 6 months of age, wearing size 9 months in Carters and 6 months in J&J. I think we took photos at around 8 months of age, and he's wearing a one piece outfit in the 6-12 month size. My son was consistently in the 50th percentile for height and weight, until he hit 2 years of age, now he's 75th, if that helps.

Do the clothes run large, small or true to size? Any advice for stocking up on summer sale items (for summer 2014)? I know I'm taking a huge gamble since my LO isn't even born yet (due August 30th), but they have the cutest stuff on sale right now for great prices so I definitely want to buy a few things for next summer that I wouldn't have bought at full price.

I'm thinking the 12-18 month size is a safe bet unless the clothes run really large? Does anyone buy there frequently who can comment?
