Certain aspects of my industry are growing. In the past year, at least half a dozen people I know from my small part of the organization have found new jobs. Well, I'm really talking number of jobs and work environment. I'll be going on the market starting in August in preparation for finishing my phd next year and I'm not looking forward to it. The last time I looked for a job was in 2008 (height of the recession!) and it was a pretty miserable experience.
