I started out in a job, any job, in my chosen field, but now I am much more selective in assignments I take on. My mom said N-to the -O. So she got me a job as a receptionist at her office for experience. I had to answer phones for one of the men renting an office in my mom's space, and he, I guess, saw potential in me and hired me as his assistant. He brought me to the company I'm working for now. I started here, cleaning out an office of a man who left suddenly. Which was filthy. It was the summer after I graduated from high school! The internship began as a very basic office job to gain experience (the task on my first day was to re-order the mailbox slots to be alphabetical!) but a few months later, the department I was interning for was eliminated. Instead of getting rid of me, they transferred me... And even if i change careers, I'll still look at this time period as a career.
