I only lock for running! A friend got a huge gash on his leg while running without locking the wheel so that was enough to scare me. You need that stability for anything more than walking in my opinion!

I have a Bob Revolution as well. I kind of wish I had an Ironman because I never use the swivel feature. I bought it thinking it would be my only stroller but ended up with two others that I use for walking around (a Snap'n'go and a Bumbleride Flyer).

I have and love the Joovy Zoom 360. You can fix the wheel for jogging (def more stable ) or swivel for walking. It's great!!

Mine has the option of locking it or leaving it in swivel position. If you're going to use it for both, I'd recommend getting one that has both.

Another proponent of BOB revolution here. Really great to be able to switch between fixed and swivel!

We have the bob revolution SE. It is our only stroller. I would never run with a stroller with a swivel wheel, it's really easy to hit a bump and lose control. Plus, even though it feels awkward at first, it is so much easier. I like having the option to switch to swivel, because we use the stroller for walks daily, and the wheels can handle trails and grass. it's a fantastic stroller, I highly recommend it.

I have a bob revolution SE...was trying to decide between that and the Sport Utility since I wanted it for light jogging and trail walking.

SO glad I got the swivel wheel. I put it on fixed wheel when I go jogging, but for any sort of walking (trail, beach) it is much easier to have it swivelling (unless it is ridiculously bumpy but 95% of the time while walking I have it on swivel).

I'm glad I spent the extra $$ to have the swivel option available!

I initially ran with my stroller wheel not fixed thinking I preferred it. I fixed it once and never looked back, I ran better and it shocked me the difference it made!

I have a bob revolution ce!

I have a cheaper jogging stroller (I think it was about $130) and it has the option to lock the wheel if needed. Since I use it more for walking / uneven paths I prefer the not fixed option, but if you're going to jog around it might be nice to have the either or option!

I am not a serious runner but it would be nice to use the stroller for walking and jogging on a paved trail without sharp turns. Would you get a fixed wheel? I've heard they are safer.

What's your recommendation for a jogging stroller?
