I’m a vegetarian which has a slightly higher chance of having a girl. We also started trying like way early, like O-5 through O day. We have two girls.

@pounce-a-lot: Yikes. I bet she was shocked! But loves her little girl all the same! :)

@hellobeeboston: I lean towards coincidence too. DS1 was a product of O-3 (maybe even O-4) and DS2 was O-1. Both were one hit wonders (which also supposedly sways girl). DS3 could have been anywhere from O-3 to O. I never eat breakfast.

Basically I've done a a lot of things that sway girl but have three boys...except my overall (admittedly, not the healthiest) diet. Haha. It's fun to think about, anyways!

Interesting comments!

I never have any aspartame, and I ALWAYS eat breakfast & all meals, I'm not sure when I conceived but I think it was close to O date... I have two boys. Probably coincidence but I find these so interesting.

I know about this from a friend.
She used a-gender, paid almost 500 dollars for the what they call platinum plus program which is the most involved package they offer or did at the time. She ended up having her third beautiful baby girl but swayed for a boy. She did pretty much everything they said to do and no, it didn't work. Lesson learned!

We sort of used shettles accidentally. With my second we conceived on like 0-4 (maybe even 0-5? Didn’t have sex any other time that week) and she’s a girl. With my current pregnancy, we had sex on 0-3 and 0-4 I think (definitely missed 0-1 and O) and it’s a girl too. Our first we conceived on our honeymoon when we were having lottssss of sex and he’s a boy.

@Ms. RV: See that is funny...because with DS1 we DEF only hit O-3 (and def got a boy lol)

@skinnycow: BRB off to grab some Diet Coke :silly:

@JennyPenny: Interesting!! I never eat breakfast...but I def make up for it during my late night snacking *facepalm* Some intermittent fasting def wouldn't hurt any of my situation haha

@MrsSCB: Oooo interesting! I had read once that the only time the odds increase of conceiving a certain gender is when you already have 3 kids of that same gender!

I have no idea about how well trying to influence it actually works, BUT I thought these stats were interesting! Apparently if this will be your fourth child, you're only 12.5 percent likely to have four kids of all the same gender. So the odds are on your side at least!

I remember seeing a lot of (actual scientific) research suggesting that the longer you fast during a day, the more likely you are to have a girl. Or more simply put, women who eat breakfast are more likely to have boys than women who don't. There was also a similar study on women who conceived while observing Ramadan. The odds sway very slightly, but it is measurable.

We didn't but I know one of the things that is supposed to sway to female is aspartame and I was drinking a crap ton of diet coke both times I conceived (both girls) :silly:

A lot of people swear by Shettles method also... I hit most days between O-4 and O both times I conceived so who knows which day actually resulted in conception.

We did Shettles both times and it worked (or we got lucky!). Possibly TTC #3 soon and we would be using Shettles again.

I didn’t but a friend did- she has two girls and they sort of would like a boy too but really wanted a third. She tried a few methods- what she ate, timing,... and they are very excited for their third girl due in a few months.

We have 3 boys. If I was being 100% honest with myself, I think I'd be bummed if I didn't have the opportunity to raise a girl.

Anyone tried gender swaying? I am familiar with Shettles' timing method. I am looking more at diet, etc. influencing the body's pH.

My disclaimer is that this is all just for fun. If we are blessed with another baby and it happens to be a boy, I will love him to the ends of the earth. When I was pregnant with DS3 I was about ready to punch the next person who gave me a sympathetic "ohhhh another boy?" Like. YES another boy and we are thrilled! *eyeroll and end rant*
