The metal on mine is brushed instead of shiny. Our sink faucet is shiny, so eventually I'll have to switch out that too. Love them! </p> https://boards.hellobee.com/topic/just-for-fun-how-would-you-update-hollywood-lights-in-your-bathroom#post-1975696 Mon, 08 Dec 2014 15:01:45 +0000 LaughLines 1975696@https://boards.hellobee.com/ <p>it's easier than you're likely anticipating to replace them! </p> <p>They key is to determine where the "box" is that the electrical is coming through, that will help you identify what type of replacement you can buy. </p> <p>Turn off the power at the breaker box<br /> take off the hollywood light (there are likely just a few screws somewhere on it.. they may be sort of hidden but they're there and all you need is a screwdriver)<br /> the wires will still be connected, which is fine, you just want to see WHERE along the long stretch of lights the wires are. </p> <p>If the wires are in the middle/centered over your sink, you can buy ANY kind of light fixture you want. Go crazy.</p> <p>If it's in some weird spot off center or way to the side (not that uncommon, they put it where it's easiest based on where the studs are) then you can buy one like mamaof2 posted above that has the long plate behind it to cover but NOT one like the chrome one you posted unless you move the wire box. </p> <p>Moving the wire box isn't necessarily difficult, it just means cutting adn patching the drywall which is not super fun.
