Yikes! Scary! But I think I'd rather have the peace of mind to have a flase (or maybe not false) alarm! :) Glad H is okay!

Ours has gone off about 8 times.About half of those times it was obvious that it was a fit issue ( diaper too loose, or lost contact against tummy). The other half of the time it wasn't obvious why it went off but LO was fine and awake so I try not to focus on why it went off....just that its ok.

OH MY GOD...did you get back to sleep after that? Yikes.
This is totally why I could never use one of those things. I would not handle the false alarms well at all!

Oh geeze! I don't use one because I would probably be more paranoid with it.

We stopped using ours because it kept going off, false alarms. I don't think they work well for preemies. But every time it would go off I would freak out. We didn't use the Snuza, we used Angel Care and B didn't weigh enough for it to work correctly.

@boiledpnut: So glad yours were false alarms too!

@Happygal: I was trembling forever, like I was scared to hold her because the insides of my arms were shaking so bad! Then when I finally did start to fall asleep, the stupid dishwasher started beeping downstairs to signal that it was done, and I thought it was the Snuza again!

@Beehive: That makes me feel better that yours randomly went off before and your LO is perfect! I'm not looking forward to more false alarms as she gets wigglier, but I'm probably too paranoid to ditch it!!! I read that the most likely age for SIDS to occur is 2-4 months and H is just over 3 months, but maybe that will make you feel a little better since your LO is 5 months!

Me! We use a Snuza, and it does go off sometimes. Only once in the early days, which was the scariest - I'm still not sure why it went off that time. It's the scariest thing! I think (hope!!) that each time it's gone off has been because it's come loose.

DS is nearly 5 months now, and is moving around in the crib a lot and rolling on to his tummy to sleep, and the alarm has been going off a LOT recently - this week I think it's gone off 3 times, including last night. It terrifies me that he's sleeping on his tummy sometimes now - last night he spent half the night like that. So the Snuza does still give me peace of mind, but it also doesn't work well when he's on his tummy and the alarm is more likely to go off, so I really don't know whether to stop using the Snuza or deal with the inevitable false alarms at this point. So I understand what you went through last night, and hopefully you won't have any more false alarms for a long time!

How terrifying! I hope it was just a false alarm with the Snuza not being close enough to her.

My worst fear happened just now...H's Snuza breathing monitor went off, indicating that it did not detect her breathing. I flew into the nursery shouting her name and she was laying there staring sleepily at the monkeys on her wall. I grabbed her and made sure she was awake and THANK GOD she was fine...I think the waistband of her diaper was not tight enough and the Snuza lost contact with her skin.... At least, I hope that's all it could have been. I hope she didn't stop breathing...I'm just going to assume for my own sanity that if she was fine when I got to her, that it had to just be a false alarm...

I have never been so terrified...

Any Snuza users have this happen before?
