I totally tested all the time but my cycles in the 6 months after quitting bc were all in the 30s whereas before starting bc I was 27 days like clockwork. I think my first cycle off was 38 days! It can take some time for your body to figure itself out again.

@fuzzypeaches: I had no problem regulating after BC (sorry no help there) but I hated waiting for AF to show so I always tested early. HOWEVER, I hated wasting money on tests as well. I suggest going to the dollar store and stocking up on tests from there (sense you plan on ttc anyways) and have a digital on hand just encase the cheep one comes up positive. GOOD LUCK!

Belated thanks ladies! Still no AF, still sore boobs. It's so crazy. Since the neg test I'm dreaming babies non-stop haha.

@Foodnerd81, @WINNIEBEE: I definitely need to stock up on the cheapies, as with more research I've realized how common a prolonged cycle is when coming off of BCP!
@WALLAROO, @.TWIST. : I hope that happens to me too! I wasn't really trying, per say, but I was surprised at how said I was that its as negative!

@LindsayInNYC: So exciting right? I didn't think I would have problems regulating either, because prior to BCP I was 28day cycle like clockwork. But I guess you never know! It's driving me crazy!

@fuzzypeaches: I got pregnant the first cycle going off BCP. I tested and it was negative. One week later I still didn't have my period so I tested again. I just wanted to have my period so I could really start charting but lo and behold I got a BFP

@fuzzypeaches: My first cycle off BCP was about 40 something days, then it went down to a normal around 30 after that. I'd stock up on a few cheapies so you can set your mind as ease while your body sorts itself out. I know for myself, the anxiety of not knowing-- even when I was almost certain I couldn't be pregnant-- was the worst. For a dollar, I could take a test and know I was just being crazy and go about my day (and have a glass of wine!).

Oh and I would get really sore boobs from about a week after O until I got my period, every month, so I knew it wasn't a preg symptom for me.

@fuzzypeaches: I remember my periods were SO different feeling right after coming off BCP. Crazy cramps, much worse PMS. So maybe that's it. Good luck!

@FuzzyPeaches - I start the sugar pills of my last pack of BC tonight. So we're kinda in the same boat except you're a month ahead of me! I wanted to let myself have a month to regulate but DH doesn't want to wait any longer. And I really don't think my body will have a problem regulating anyways. We'll see though!

Thanks everyone! I ended up testing this am just for peace of mind (dh thinks I'm crazy! Lol!) and it was definitely negative. I think it's just my body trying to regulate itself, because the boobies are still super sore and still no sign of AF. I never thought I would say this, but I'm so ready for her to come already so I know my body us ready to get this show on the road!

Thanks again bees!

It took my cycles several months to regulate after BCP - I think the first month was like 36 days, Then maybe 34, then like 40 and I got pregnant but miscarried and then my cycles were a little wonky again after that.

I say test! I would use a cheapie test just to try, and then follow up with a digital if the first one seems to be positive. Good luck!

@fuzzypeaches: I agree, test!

However, buy a dollar store cheapie! Seriously, they are $1 and they work fine. Sometimes the line can be faint and you want to follow up with a digital but save your money!

@fuzzypeaches: I didn't feel pregnant when I got my BFP either, so don't let that convince you! How long were your cycles before going on BCP? If you think you could be late, definitely test!

I was like @Rainbow Sprinkles. It took me months to get back to a normal cycle length. The first was 60 days, then 45. I went through a lot of HPTs in that first four months!

It took me over 70 days to get my first period after coming off the pill. So you're body could just be adjusting.
I got my BFP after that first period.

there are much cheaper tests if you don't want to spend so much.

but were your cycles pretty regular before you started the pill? 30 days isn't really that long if your cycles were irregular before.

Hi bees!
I was once on wedding bee, but my baby fever has brought me here! I need some advice from bees more wise than I.

DH and I were planning to try in Feb/March next year, but I went off the pill in Nov and were sort of NTNP.

I had a normal withdrawal bleed after stopping the BCP, and now it's been about 30days since my last withdrawal and still no period.

No real symptoms except fatigue/sore boobs which could just be pre-menstrual stuff. Do I test? Am I just going to waste $17? Am I crazy? I'm pretty sure there was no intimate time near what would be ovulation, but I'm wondering if it was all skewed from the BCP. I feel 100% normal otherwise.

Advice? Thanks in advance!!!
