I say it a myth look it up. It doesn't work and there's research to back it up. Kellymom.com great resource. Ive been tokd also that iron fortified cereal ia bad for babies because babies bodies won't produce enough iron because theyare giving it as a supplement. Their bodies wont regulate it and after they get the supplement they are iron deficient. Makes sense to me. She also gave them cow's milk at like 3 months and told me she fed them purées with some sort of syringe thing and that BIL would eat a whole jar of baby food in a couple minutes. I think it's very much a generational thing. But he was showing an interest in eating and he just gobbles it up. I think it is a totally personal choice about when to start and that is what my pediatrician said. But, I have heard it said to several people. AAP and WHO recommend nothing but breastmilk/formula until 6 months. I start a new job in early September, so my EBF LO has been mostly been getting milk from the breast, especially because it's easier and convenient for me to do so (she can be super clingy or has been until lately making it hard to pump). </p> <p>My mother is staying with us in our small apartment, and pretty much told me this morning that the reason why LO had a bad night of sleep was because I am not feeding her enough and that she's hungry. Needless to say, I'm pissed and refuse to believe that I am starving my LO who has been growing and sleeping well with just my BM. It's also making me feel a touch paranoid. </p> <p>I just finished a nanny interview, and the woman was an older woman and mentioned this feeding rice cereal. I didn't say anything, but sadly she picked the wrong day to bring up that issue. </p> <p>BF'ing moms, has anyone told you this? </p>
