We set up the changing table on the dresser in our room while she was sleeping in our room then moved it back to her room once she started sleeping in there. We have a pack 'n play with the changing station on the main level of the house also stocked with all the diaper changing necessities. We have never changed a diaper anywhere in the house beside either changing station.

So I think we'll definitely keep it in our room for the first little bit! I'm glad the easy option is what will work best anyway. Love when that happens :)

@PinkElephant: I like the idea of keeping everything in a basket so we can move it around if needed!

@Anagram: I think we'll be getting a HEMNES on our next trip to IKEA for her room. We almost got one last time but I chickened out and I've had no luck finding a 2nd hand one that we can repaint. All of the old dressers around here are either so.friggin.ugly or are too low (and I'm pretty tall).

It's still in our room and she's 7 months! We just kept changing her on the PnP changer. Works well, and when she out grows it (SOON), we're just going to start changing her on the floor

We had the changing pad and the caddy with wipes/diapers on our dresser until 6 months when we moved her to her room (and the changing station went with her).

The Ikea HEMNES dressers are the perfect height for changing pads!

The changing table was in our main room as we lived in a 1br condo so it wasn't far to change him in the middle of the night.

We kept a changing pad on our dresser for as long as she was in the Moses basket in our room. Diapers/wipes/creams were in a basket we could move around, along with one of those cotton covered waterproof pads for impromptu sofa changes.

Our pnp has a changing table attachment, and he'll be sleeping in there while he's in our room, so that'll be the set up for us for that.

I'm actually not sure what I'll do once we move and he's got his own room, because we don't have any other sort of changing table. :)

We have a changing station setup in the bathroom next to our bedroom (on the washer), so we used that. It was only a few extra steps and very convenient. We would've had it in our room if we didn't already have a convenient place for it!

Yup we had it in our room on my side of the bed so I only had to move 2 steps to change her. I didn't want to risk getting pee/poop on our bed. It made it so much easier when I was half asleep! We kept it in there until we moved lo to her own room next door at 7 months.

TBH, I think we spent most of the nights out on the couch the first few weeks, so we'd change her in her room (we live in a single story). Our room is next to hers so it's easy just to change in her room anytime. But I say, do whatever is easier for you!

@fussygal: we kept the changing table in our room until we moved DS out to his own room around 5 weeks. we didn't want to risk him peeing all over our bed (which actually happened once or twice).

Our changing table is still in our bedroom and LO is 2! It's a dresser with a pad. She just has a small room and it made more sense but it's also convenient.

Yes! We moved it in our room for maybe weeks 2-4 and wish we had done so the first week as well. She's still in our room, but we moved the changing area once she started waking up less at night (and not pooping as much at night!).

We didn't move LO's changing station to our room, but we changed him on a bath towel on our bed, and had a basket with a few diapers and his wipes in our room. It was nice not to have to leave our room at night.

Well, we had a change table set up in her room, and moved it downstairs on the first night home since I was nursing/hanging out in the living room for the first while. It's still down here (5.5 months later). I'd put a change station wherever you are going to be nursing/feeding.

We did. We had our moms stay in the nursery and Lo was in our room so it was easier for the first few weeks. Then we moved it to her room when she started sleeping in there I think.

If LO slept in your room for the first few weeks/months did you do night changes in your bedroom or elsewhere? I'm thinking if we leave a lamp on it won't disturb the other (hopefully) sleeping adult?

I've been trying to find a long and low dresser that we can use as a changing table in DDs room, but no luck so far. I have a dresser in our room that is great changing table height so I'm thinking it might just be easier to keep the changing station in our room anyway since that's where we plan to have her sleep for the first few weeks/months. Of course after all this worry I'll probably be one of the people that doesn't use a changing pad/table!
