If it were in there all day on a hot day I'd probably toss just because it wouldn't taste great but even then I doubt it would be unsafe. It's from a ridiculously overpriced farm stand, I'm embarrassed to day the full watermelon was like $15, it's cut 'cause I split it with my mom since neither if us will use a whole one before it goes bad. I really don't know about the bacteria, that's why I figured I'd ask. I'm with you that they grow outside &amp; aren't refrigerated whole, cutting def makes things go bad faster, but it doesn't seem smooshy or slimy.
