I try to keep them separated! Even if they have been exposed - it makes me feel better haha.

I try to keep them separated but obviously it is hard so I just have DD wash her hands a lot and not touch/kiss the baby.

@autumnlove: Germs are just everywhere, honestly, to an extent that I'm not sure people understand. Handwashing really helps, but that's about it. If someone in a house has something, everyone is going to be or has already been exposed, end of story.

Never worried about it. DH is funny b/c he got a cold when she was still pretty new & wouldn't pick her up or anything BUT she sleeps in our bed... the same bed that he'd been sleeping in "coming down" with whatever he had. smh. lol

I figure this is the reason we breastfeed. I just keep her close & nurse as much as possible.

Also, you other child is spreading germs onto everything she touches, so there really isn't any way to keep the germs from your newborn.

I don't worry that much because I figure I pass on my antibodies through breastfeeding. Usually when our little babe gets sick it's not as severe as in the rest of us.

LO stayed home from daycare with a runny nose and fever. DH is home but he isn't doing a good job of keeping LO away from the newborn....Ahhh!

Do you keep your sick LOs from the healthy ones? I think I'm only concerned because she is a newborn!
