I know people that waited to tell work until 20 weeks or so, but it was their first. The main thing about hiding it is that people will start to suspect, then it just gets awkward....like everyone knows and it's the elephant in the room. I told work around 13 weeks...by then several people had suspected and it's my first so I didn't think I was really showing. </p> <p>Of course, do what is best for you and your family. Only four people know right now. I asked a coworker when she got her first positive. She said it was early. I saw her yesterday and showed her my iPhone pics of the pregnancy tests. Her and another coworker looked at me and said, "Yep, you're pregnant." </p> <p>It's crazy because my period is due tomorrow. I'm so nervous about spotting tomorrow. I've had tugging and pulling cramps today. I'm planning on making my first prenatal appointment on Friday to hopefully get in early in the new year. I'm so worried about miscarriage. I'm hoping that February gets here fast, so we can officially announce and be out of the scary period.</p> <p>I also want to symptom discuss, etc. too. Today's a good day compared to others. I was afraid that I wasn't pregnant or something. Turns out some days are better and less nauseous than others. I felt this way on the weekend: one bad day, one better day. Right off the bat I had three doctors appointments scheduled and in my small office it's impossible to hide. I wanted to try to take a " long lunch" for two of the appointments but got nervous about people being out, I'd have to cover, etc. I ended up telling two managers so they could back me up without everyone knowing. Other than the customary 1st trimester wait to announce publicly because of miscarriage risk, of course... I'm concerned because my current job is on a contract basis, and even though my boss is amazing and would most likely work with me to make things work, I just wouldn't want to disclose a pregnancy until absolutely necessary so it wouldn't jeopardize my current projects. </p> <p>Anyone else in the same boat? I'm sure I will be itching to post about pregnancy symptoms (or... I'm currently itching to post about them....??? hehe) but I'd be too afraid of the news getting around. </p>
