@Rubies: I am right there with you right now. C was just up all out screaming most of the night, finally slept for 3 hours, and now we have a brand new overtired day to deal with.

Dh took her for a hour or so and I rested with the sound machine next to my head to block out her cries. It's horrible. I cry several days a week. And I feel horrible for getting so mad at her.

No advice but I guess it must be normal-ish?

Omg, so many times in the first 4 months of LMW's life I literally thought I was not going to survive!!! I remember distinctly saying that I wasn't going to make it. Then she dropped to just one feeding a night, around 2-3am, which Wagon Sr. didn't mind doing with a bottle of pumped milk... so I started sleeping through the night and oh my gosh. 180 degree turn of life quality. Thankfully he was able to survive with that one wakeup (he'd go to bed really early, and he could go right back to sleep after the feeding) and all our lives really changed!!

Hang in there... it will get better, soon!! Until then... you have us!!!!

I pass the baby off to the hubby for an hour or two. It lets me cool down and get an hour of uninterrupted sleep. That solid hour of sleep makes me feel like a new woman sometimes!

*hugs* on what you're going through. DS is 16 weeks and is doing the same thing this past 2 weeks. *face palm*

Stretching, light yoga. When I get stressed I carry the stress in my upper back/neck and it can get pretty ugly. Plus my arms where aching from all the carrying and rocking, so I did a lot of isometic exercises.

@Rubies: I found it helped if I redecorated his room in my head; focusing on something else and tuning him out calmed me down!

The same thing happens to me--I alternate between angry, sad and desperate...so you are not alone!

I did a lot of praying and thinking "this too shall pass". I also left the room when needed for a minute or two, and tried to think about ways to reward myself the next day...really exciting stuff like picking up take out or seeing if I could finagle five minutes to shower.

A friend at work also told me about a "loving kindness" meditation. You basically think of someone in your life, LO or otherwise, and try to send them good thoughts and affirmations. It helps me calm down and fall asleep sometimes...

My newborn is cute and all but she's starting to make me crazy, quite literally. The sleep-deprivation is starting to get to me now and I need tips to stay calm and sane at 3am after being up every hour for the last 5. You all know what I mean.

Sometimes I get angry then immediately sad because it's not baby's fault she's not tired!

What do you do to not have a cow in the middle of the night?
