I just started taking Vitafusion's extra strength Biotin gummies, and I ordered Renpure Biotin shampoo/conditioner from Target and started using it last night.</p> <p>I read decent reviews for Renpure on Amazon and they weren't expensive so I thought I'd give it a try. (I do already have thick hair though)</p> <p>The thing is Keratin and Biotin are used to MAKE your hair. So your body needs it BEFORE your hair grows. Putting it on your hair after it's grown doesn't do much.</p> <p>They have hair and nail vitamins with high levels of keratin and biotin that you can take. I was losing a ton around 4 months PP and I asked on these boards how long it lasted. Average was about 3 months PP - 9 months PP and that ended up being exactly how long I lost my hair for! I didn't have any success with special shampoos or treatments. (I did keratin treatments and have used keratin shampoos for years). </p> <p>My stylist did recommend Nioxin BEFORE I started losing my hair. He has a bunch of sisters and told them all to use it and he swears it helped but the one who didn't use it lost a lot more hair. But he did seem to think you needed to start before the hair loss (like immediately PP).<br /> I never tried it so I can't give a testimonial. And I have an "olaplex no. 3" for my house that I use once a week. I highlight my hair and it has helped big time with any breakage. I don't lose as much hair in my brush any more. I know that the "it's a 10" line that is sold at Target has products with keratin in them. I got a haircut today and mentioned that my hair was still shedding a TON even at 16m pp. she asked what shampoo I used and I told her Pantene. She mentioned that Pantene is known to cause shedding! She suggested using shampoo with Keratin, which is a protein. I did a little googling and it seems to be divided on whether it works. It was at a salon academy so there was NO pressuring to buy products so I'm inclined to believe she was just giving me advice she believes to be true. :)</p> <p>I just think at 16m PP, my hair shouldn't still be falling off in clumps. I never used to use Pantene so it does kinda make sense! </p>
