It's not watered down....it makes the drink super condensed to make up for the melted ice.

But, now they have a new keurig that you can control water temp on.
That being said: I don't love their cold drinks. They are very meh...especially in comparison tot he quality of their hot drinks :)

@Adira: It's easy but a little more work than keurig, obviously. :-) But it's so good and I've already converted 3 different people to this method. DH said that its ruined all other iced coffee for him and he's not usually that opinionated :-)

@Adira: Here you go! Of course you can adjust the quantities. This recipe yields a LOT.
Also, I highly recommend using the coffee she mentions in her recipe...I've tried others but the Cafe Bustelo is by far the best. And it's really not that expensive when you consider the cost of an iced coffee at Starbucks!

@Adira: Yeah, i think you are supposed to have the 'iced coffee'/4oz setting so that its strong and doesn't get too watered down. Mine has it but we tried it once and I still wasn't impressed.

I have an awesome recipe to make big batches of iced coffee if you're interested :-) We live on it during the summer! I make a gallon at a time.

@MrsCB: Oh, really? You have to do the 4oz setting? I'm not sure if my keurig has that or not!

@artbee: Such a good idea to make ice from coffee! I never would have thought to do that!

Hmm, that does sound confusing. Hopefully like everyone else mentioned it's just stronger. I would think you would have add ice a second time though... surely it would all initially melt!

DH likes these, but I'm not a huge fan. You have to have to have a glass that's full of ice, and you need a keurig with the iced drink setting (4oz) or it'll come out pretty bad.

I make iced lattes by making a regular cup of espresso and then just pouring it over ice and adding cold milk. Works just fine. My mom has a Nespresso Aeroncino that will make both hot and cold steamed milk -- I'd probably get that if I was really serious about making iced lattes.

I liked the iced coffee. I think the k-cup is stronger to compensate for the ice.

Yes I tried ice tea and was not impressed at all. You just brew it over a glass with ice. It cools it down but not completely. I ended up throwing the glass in the fridge for awhile. The ice tea I got wasn't very good, I ended up having to add sugar to it. I'll never buy the cold ones again :( I don't think it gets watered down because it must be more concentrated, but I didn't like it. Love my Keurig for coffee though....I'll stick to that!

Never tried it, I'm curious too. Have you tried making ice out of coffee by freezing it? That would help with the watered down issue.

So I got a couple the other day for buying Iced Coffee/Tea k-cups for a Keurig. Has anyone done that before? I'm confused on how this works. I'm assuming the keurig still heats up the water, right? Won't that just melt all your ice? Do they taste good? I feel like it would be all watered down from all the melted ice and not actually be cold. Anyone try it?
