Oh definitely! I love Ikea and assembling their furniture, I have a lot of fun letting my 3 year old "help" me (really for the past year). He has a toy set of tools and runs his fake drill (and sometimes my real one without the bit).

Sorting the screws and things is a great idea! I usually started setting up right before nap time so he could help for a while, then put him to bed and make some real progress.

I am the handy one around the house, I gained confidence in it solely because my dad and grandpa let me help them with projects. My husband wasn't as lucky and was never invited to help, so he gets frustrated by these things much quicker than I do.

My little girl loves to help assemble stuff. So far we haven't had anything super complicated. He lets her hold stuff and work the little wrench.

I was assembling an IKEA art cabinet tonight, and the kids kept on "helping" me! I let them organize all the screws and pegs, but finally had to turn on a video to distract them. Assembling furniture is hard enough - it's impossible with kids climbing all over you! They absolutely love helping out though.

Anyone else have kids that love to assemble furniture? Seriously, if IKEA had a toddler furniture assembly kit, I bet my kids would do that for hours!
