Depending on which side of the family passed, the other parent will stay outside with the kids. It's not "good" for kid's to attend the service/see the casket or see the lowering of the casket in Chinese culture. Services normally don't take long so it's not a big deal. For the first funeral, the immediate family was very happy she was there. To us, it's part of life and nothing for our kids to grow up being afraid of. </p>
