We use Glop & Glam Watermelon hard candy (medium hold, I believe) and Original Sprout Natural Hair Gel. We typically find ourselves reaching for the Glop & Glam over the Original Sprout because it has better hold. We've had the Glop & Glam for a few years now since a little goes a long way.

My son’s hair is always in his face - he also has the scissors only cut. Sometimes I use product to keep it back for pictures or something. If you don’t want that wet gel look, you either need to use a super light hand with the gel, or use a product that is more matte. We have the one below but certainly others out there (I stole it from dh) - you can buy this anywhere just easiest to find the pic on amazon!

my son's hair is super thick, and as hard as i try to train his part so it sweeps to the side as it gets longer, it ends up straight down (and/or up/sideways) 90% of the time. i am thinking we need to incorporate some light gel into the morning brush to see if that helps. anyone have any product recommendations?

please also feel free to tell me i'm doing it wrong as i really don't get boys haircuts. we've been sticking with scissor cuts for now but i'm wondering if doing more of a buzz cut might help. just feels too grown up for my little guy.
