@StbHisMrs: How old is your LO? I found a lump in my armpit about a week after I had DD. I went to the doctor and it turns out that it's pretty common to have that happen after you have an IV or something like that in your arm.

@StbHisMrs: My best friend had the same thing a few years ago. Her OB said it was because of underwires too! I stopped wearing underwires ever since!

Thank you all :)
I'm feeling a bit better about it, actually trying to forget about until I can go to the Dr. I'm about due for an annual anyways.

@TheHistoryofUs it's right under my arm pit, not in my breast.

@hergreenapples yes I do wear an underwire, it could be from a new bra I've been wearing.

Do you wear underwire bras? About a year ago, I started having pain and what felt like a lump right where my underwire hit me. I've been underwire free for probably 8 or 9 months now and the pain and lump are gone. I will never go back to underwire (even though I am a DD). I've also heard of women getting lumps in their armpits due to ingrown hairs and regular hormonal changes.

Obviously I would encourage you to go see a doctor to be sure that everything is okay, but there are certainly other things that could be causing the pain/lump that aren't scary outcomes :)

@StbHisMrs: I had a marble-sized lump in my breast earlier this year! I wasn't pregnant or breastfeeding either and was very freaked out. It was most likely from going off birth control (any kind of hormonal change can cause it... or basically anything at all) and apparently TONS of women in their 20s and 30s routinely find breast lumps. I had no idea! Try not to freak out if you can. Are you making a dr appointment for after Dec 1? That's this week..!

Hope you figure out what it is. I've had lumps in my armpit a few times. It was my deodorant causing it. Maybe try a different bra for a few days, one that doesn't hit in the same spot.

Aww So sorry. Its never fun to be scared.

Is the lump in your breast or in your arm pit? You have lots of glands and lymph nodes in that area that can get swollen. It can be to a reaction from anything. Just like the lymph nodes in your neck get swollen when you are sick.

Good news is that December 1st is right around the corner, I would get an appointment for that following Monday and see what they say. You should be fine until then.

Hopefully it's nothing! I know you aren't BFing but when I first started, I had a lump in the same area. It was a swollen duct - icing it constantly reduced the size and it hasn't been back sinc. Mine also killed. Maybe give the ice a try?

@Maisymay
Thank you for that article :)
I'm so irregular, I have no idea. Sometimes I go 6 months without a period.

I'm absolutely staying away from google, I have learned my lesson! lol
I've tried rubbing it a little bit, but haven't noticed it shrink. I'm not sure why my DH can't see or feel it. I certainly can.

@StbHisMrs: Have you tried massaging it to see if it shrinks? Maybe that sounds really dumb, sorry. Try to stay off of Google because Dr. Google will scare you and convince you it's something horrible. Where are you in your menstural cycle right now?

I hope it's something normal, I'm not breastfeeding, not pregnant, and have never had any kind of lump.
I have been on prednisone for a week and a half for an allergic reaction to makeup, I'm not sure that could be it though.
What's concerning me is that it hurts.

A lot of women get lumps in their breasts, especially if they are near their period or are breastfeeding. I'm not trying to down play the severity of this, and am really glad that you'll have insurance soon, but do want to reassure you that it may be completely normal.

So my bra has been bothering me a lot lately on the left side, I just thought maybe it's because it's tighter than my others. I'm the type of person who is more comfortable in a bra than not, I'm even known to sleep in them. Lately all I want to do is take it off, it hurts. Yesterday while I was in the shower I noticed that it was really painful under my left arm, then I felt a big (egg sized) lump. My dh couldn't feel anything when I told him about it later that evening (Happy Birthday Baby, I found a lump).

Since he's been laid off for a year and just went back the last week in October our insurance doesn't start until December 1st. I don't want to go to the Dr. and find something awful and then have a pre-existing condition.

This is not a fun feeling.
