I grew up in Germany and I think the toys were really cool when I was a child. I actually love the chocolate it tastes like nostalgia.

I didn't know the u.s had never had kinder eggs! What other tasty foods do you miss out on?! Honestly, they're so so and now that the toys have to be safer they're a bit lame. Also, here they have "girl" and "boy" eggs for sale at some places which is obviously not cool... however, there's still a market for the eggs. My parents get them for grandkids as a treat and they're fun.

I've never understood the hype around these things. I know they are allergy safe for some people, so that's cool. But the chocolate is not very good and the toy is quickly forgotten. Here they cost about 99 cents.

Kinder Joys are pretty lame. We've had them when we go abroad and she's never been into it, because there's no actual "cracking" of the egg.

You can get real Kinder Surprise on eBay for like $3-4 / egg.

I had heard from my "guy" at the candy shop (no really, I promise) that they will be basically the same but the toy will be more lame because it won't be a choking hazard. Some of the imported ones have tiny pieces. Chocolate will be the same.

Haha...my local Italian deli had them for Easter this year - they imported them from Italy. I'm curious how different the US ones will be. And what they will cost. I hear the ones in the UK are much cheaper than the imported ones I got at the market.
