I'm so excited LO gets to come to my school where I teach. Her teachers will have been my work friends for years. The only bummer is now I'll have to get her ready in the morning, as opposed to DH and me skipping off to work. I bought most of her school supplies like in September on sale and found a few more super cheap things a few weeks ago. I'm not sad! But then again, I was happy for her to start preschool too. I love her being little and I miss her tiny baby-ness but I'm looking forward to more adventures.</p> <p>I have to do the mortgage paper/utilities and medical stuff. I still want to tour some of the other schools we can try to get into that are a bit better, but the ratios are so much better at our school. And can't beat walking vs driving. I looked up our district's kindergarten information although we won't need it for another year. The registration form is one page which is mostly demographic information, we would need one proof of address (driver's license), immunization record, and birth certificate. Then we go to a roundup night at our zoned elementary and fill out bus transportation information, and presumably get a tour, etc.</p> <p>We may look into private schools too but are leaning towards public. We also put her in a lottery for a charter school and will hear sometime in March. I had to register for my local school in early December. At that time I had to apply for my school of choice (like a magnet school) and any form 10 (in district but not my local school) that I want. Because my local school has bad test scores, I am guaranteed a different school.</p> <p>So they have tours at every school. Now the hard part comes, I have to choose the school. He got into the charter school and a school of choice. Our biggest issue is after school care. The charter is further away and has only their after school care which is full. The school of choice has after school care which is full but is across from a daycare that does after school care. She goes to a private school so there wasn't a lot of paperwork.
