I'm due at the beginning of October and I'm torn on whether I want to delivery early or late (really, it's not in my hands though). My brother was a 10/10 baby and my mom held him back from starting young and it was the best thing for him.<br /> I can't believer NY is Dec 31st!!! At the next district over, it's Sept 1 as well for Kindergarten, but you can apply for "early" admission to 1st grade if the child is in a private pre-school/pre-k class taught by a registered kindergarten teacher, passes some tests and interviews, and turns six between Sept 2 and Dec 31.<br /> My due date is Sept 23. We are probably going to move before LO reaches school age, so we will have to take this into consideration when we look for a new place to live (plus, they may change things between now and then!) Our due date is October 6th, and I plan on waiting a year, that is most common around here. I am due Sept. 13th and we will probably move within the next 5 years so I don't know what we will do.<br /> My nephew's birthday is 9/10 and my sister had the option to put him in kindergarten at either 4 or 5. The cut off must have been December 31. Now I think it's September 1. Weird to think my life would be very different if that were the cut off for me since DH is a year younger than me, one grade, but has a birthday after the cut off. You can, of course, elect to have your child start early, but it's a lengthy process.
