My mom's kitchen was updated 4-5 years ago with my help. The counter and backsplash were both the same granite except for the stove area. She used a small square glass tile sized stone and we popped out a few randomly to place cored glassed tiles in it. Then to give it a finished look we used rounded stone trim, which butted up against the granite backsplash. The tan of the stone was found in the granite so that worked well.
