@LazyLightning: They make a sling that you can hold the baby in for showering!

couple options to add to your list =)

collapsable tub you could use anywhere can easily store:
http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Lionheart-Flexibath-Foldable-Bathtub/dp/B004NRNSRI/ref=pd_sbs_ba_2

for bathing in the kitchen sink:

I think the sponge or something like it would be good. You could use it for sponge baths on the countertop, and it would work as a bit of support in the sink as they get older and can recline or sit.

@LazyLightning: haha wow!! That's rough tubbin' right there. I think a towel would work, I'd think the only down side would be it wouldn't dry very fast.

@LazyLightning: or this:
http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Comfy-Bath-Sponge/dp/B000H953Y2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356726156&sr=8-1&keywords=foam+baby+bath

That would fit in any size sink, and not take up a lot of storage space. There are other variations of that one as well. Some bigger, thicker ones.

@Weagle: Have thought about that a lot. It's an option for sure--though i"m not sure our sinks are deep enough for it to work right (says your sink has to be more than 6" deep and 14" wide - not sure ours is but I intend to measure before buying). I guess I liked the kitchen sink idea better because it's got a countertop. No place to set anything like soap or a towel near our pedestal sinks (our house is weird. sigh.)

@Bao: I had not seen that one, thanks for the suggestion. I'll put it on my list (I'm making a huge list of options for various things then narrow it down later)

@LazyLightning: What about something like this? You can fold it up nice and thin, and you could even hang it on a couple hooks. I've seen theses even hung up on those 3M plastic adhesive hooks in the shower. Just thinking of possibilities :)

@Bao: Honestly I have no idea. Wood floors everywhere, tiny little bathroom, no closets. I was planning to do the thing where you get in the shower holding baby and wash them that way, till my mom pointed out 1) how clumsy I am and 2) how slippery babies are. LOL.

@LazyLightning: We just take it out and set it standing up on the rug, leaning against the tub. Where will you store a tub that will be used in the kitchen sink?

@Bao: wow that is a crazy looking thing!! ;) I thought about storing in tub/taking out when showering, but my husband pointed out that everything about that idea would be hell - from where to put it while showering, it would take up all the floor space in the bathroom, to trying to kneel in that small space to bathe the baby. (Clearly, i have 'bigger bathrooms' and 'more than 1 full bath' on my list for the future home requirements. haha.)

@Weagle: I thought about that too. Again - wondering where it gets stored though. :-(

We used a regular plastic baby tub on the countertop. It was easier for us than using the sink.

@LazyLightning: We have that sling, but there is no way it would fit in a standard kitchen sink, it's way too large. We put it in our bath tub though. We keep it in the bath tub to store, and take it out when we shower. We kneel on the bathroom rug to bathe her. Our bathroom isn't super tiny, but it's not large either.

What about something like this?
http://www.amazon.com/Blooming-Bath-Baby-Turquoise/dp/B007S1T42O/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1356724008&sr=8-8&keywords=infant+bath

I know they have different variations of something similar to this too.

I'm starting to look at registry stuff. We live in a very old home with the following options for baby bathing:

--standard sized 'double' kitchen sink
--2 pedestal sinks, no countertops in either bathroom
--bathtub, but in a narrow bathroom you could not get a chair in to, would have to kneel on the tile floor with either the toilet digging in to your back, or the pedestal sink bottom between your legs.

So the kitchen sink is the answer to us -- at least until baby is too big for that option. Was thinking it'd be good to get some kind of tub or sling for it though.

This one is one i saw that looked like it might fit. Anyone have this one?
http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Mothers-Deluxe-Bather/dp/B003BTXSCE

Or, recommend another one? I want something that isn't too huge. There is no storage in our home or places to 'hide' things away in bathrooms or elsewhere. I was looking at the PUJ tub but it doesn't seem like it would fit in our sink correctly...
