@Foodnerd81: Probably around 15 pounds? That was also around the time he started wanting to look around everywhere and have his hands out, I probably would've been fine with it for longer if it hadn't been for how wiggly and restless he was getting in it. The Moby is a little less stretchy so I still use that on occasion, but only for short stretches, and he often just ends up in my Pikkolo since it's much easier to put on (but again, that's not a wrap.)

I preferred the Ktan over the ring sling, personally. Loved my Ktan! Now we use the Ergo 99% of the time if I'm carrying her.

Thanks for sharing, ladies!

@grizz: I am asking for a ring sling/wrap coversion or my birthday, cause the one I have my eye on is a little pricy. Where'd you get yours?

I have both, but I love my ring sling more than the Moby or K'tan! I can use it longer, quick up and down, and its very secure and comfortable.

The K'tan is very easy to use. I loved it when L was a newborn, but once he got to be a bit heavier I didn't feel that it offered enough support since it is quite stretchy and I switched to a soft structure carrier.

Definitely loved the K'tan for ease of use, especially when out & about. I didn't have a moby, but knew I'd never use it since it's so hot here.... now we use a ring sling & I love that too!

ETA: I had the breeze so I think it may have less stretch than the regular k'tan. I have never had issues with P not feeling secure in the stretch arena.... our issue came with she wanted to lean down & backwards to see/get things & the tie would end up rolling down her back. eek!

We have both.
I preferred the k'tan for ease of use. I could get baby in and out quickly.
I preferred the secure ness of the moby.

If I had to get one or the other I'd probably get the k'tan.

Lol at mooning your husband. I had both- a borrowed moby and new ktan. I just couldn't get comfortable with with ktan, where the moby felt right for us pretty much right away. Honestly it as probably user error but since the moby was free and I could I could still return the ktan, we returned it. It does seem so much quicker though. Is your friend your size so you could try it out? I'm average to tall so the moby was probably easier for me in that sense.

I have been using a moby wrap to wear DD since she was a newborn, and I really like it! However, I am short, LO is a tiny tot, and the Moby is so. freaking. long. Sometimes, it takes a while to wrap myself up and get her in there (we've been liking a position where she faces into my chest, with her legs/feet exposed). I literally have to wrap the ends around my waist a trillion times, which gets annoying, and lends itself to potential wardrobe malfunctions (I mooned DH while in a skirt, thankfully while still @ home).

A friend of mine has a k'tan and it seems like a better fit for shorter women. It also looks like it's less work to wrap baby in. What do you all think? Did anyone make a switch from a moby to a k'tan and like it?
