I pooped my brains out!! A natural enema! But it only started when my water broke. I had pprom with no contractions so I'm not the best person to ask I guess.

I couldn’t sleep the night before and I had horrible back pain and my thighs were just killing me when I woke up. That was the first sign, I think.

@LindsayInNY: I know women who take castor oil which basically just gives you the runs to induce labor so there must be something to it.... your body cleaning itself out before the big event 🤣good luck!

With my second I lost a bit of my mucus plug in the morning, small, and thought nothing of it and then I lost the whole thing in the later afternoon, went for a really long walk with my other kid and then my water broke about 4 hours later and contractions started an hour after that.

@LindsayInNY: I lost my mucus plug about a week before. The day before (TMI) I had diahrea all day. Woke up the next day at 8am and noticed contractions, started timing them about 2 hours later.

The only symptom I had prior to contractions was losing my mucus plug. It came out in the middle of the night and I went into labor the next afternoon.

I lost my mucus plug days before, but I can't even remember when. I'm sorry to say that I had no idea I was in labor until I was unable to open my eyes from lower back pain  I'll include what I experienced only because I kept waiting for all the symptoms, and they never happened! Looking back, I was still working on a project while I was in labor, but I was in denial!

I experienced my "typical" pregnancy back pain all day. I didn't think anything was up until around 5pm when the pain went away and came back a little while later. I was never able to reliably time contractions because I never felt anything that was like cramping, it was just lower back pain that would fade in and out and the urge to poop that never materialized (sorry if TMI). When the pain made me throw up, I finally admitted I was probably in labor. Apparently my water broke at some point, or I had been leaking for a while, I have no idea. (for reference, I was 2cm when I arrived at the hospital, walking but nauseated and unwilling (unable?) to open my eyes from the pain. I don't know if I was in "transition" or just had back labor, or what. Once I finally got the epidural about an hour or so later, I went from 2-10cm in 45 minutes and DS was born about 2 hours or so after that, at 2am)

@LindsayInNY: I had a contraction at work (thought - ouch, thats not fun, what will labor be like if this proximal stuff is so painful? Oy.) Then kept getting contractions regularly (still thinking it would go away). Surprise - active labor. Bloody show maybe 10 hours into it. The only "pre" labor symptom I had was getting birthday cards prepared for my coworkers (nesting I think -didn't get my house clean but got those cards out. )

I did have a massage that day that included a foot rub - that's my tip for moms trying to trigger labor. If it doesn't happen, then you still get a nice massage! Good luck

Yep consistently spaced contractions and bloody show for me. With my third I saw a lot of mucus plug but it never meant anything. With my second I had false labor where I had consistent contractions for a couple hours, even had that weird hormonal thing where you get the shakes and sweats, but then it wore off. However real labor started 24 hours later.
