Add me to the curly/frizzy bunch! I now shower at night and let my hair air dry. Not blow drying helps a lot. I've tried a LOT of curly hair products and for my hair the Suave mousse actually works best, which I know is weird. I always use a leave in conditioner as soon as I'm out of the shower.

I wash every my hair every 2-3 days with Suave Humectant. Once I'm done, I put an alcohol-free anti-frizz cream in it (it's L'oreal, but I don't know the particular name). If it's winter, I blow dry for about five minutes with the diffuser, but when it's warm I air dry and try not to touch it. I rarely straighten it, and sometimes I curl the top/front on the second or third day. Ceramic heating tools make a world of difference in the health of my hair.

I feel your pain! I try to wash every other day but I also blowdry straight. If I don't blowdry, my hair will never dry on its own. I've been using an argan oil that I put in when wet, then style, and it's been making my hair feel a bit sleeker.

@photojane: I'm almost 6 months pp and my hair started falling out ridiculously at 3 mo. I'd be really worried if it weren't so thick b/c with the amount coming out, I could make wigs!!

I have thick, wavy hair that is prone to frizz, and drying out. I wash every other day, and condition daily. Unless I'm blowing it out straight, I prefer to comb through it with my fingers, and a small round brush, after applying an anti frizz hair cream (Kevin Murphy, Easy Rider). For a while I was alternating with Aveda's Be Curly, but I can't handle the scent while pregnant.

Oh and when it's curly, I only condition it, comb it while wet in the shower and then use my fingers to add the product. Meaning I run my fingers through my hair. Then leave it alone or use a diffuser. Hope this helps. What it comes down to, is finding a curly product that works for you. On a specific day. It's a pain.

My hair is exactly the same! I only wash every other day, but condition every day - this keeps it from over-drying & being too frizzy. I use Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine leave in conditioning cream first, then a little mild gel, and a light spray of hairspray to control the frizzies. I usually do a quick warm blow dry afterwards to get a little of the moisture out, but if I'm in a hurry I skip this step. I've tried SO many different things, and I think this is the sweet spot for me.

ETA: At 4 months PP, my hair is falling out like crazy. It's everywhere! I've always had really thick hair, but it feels so thin lately. :(

I agree - -don't wash your hair that much. Use only conditioner when you wet it and try to find a curly hair style with product that works best for you. It's best, IMO to tame the hair you have, not to make it be something else. Unfortunately, this takes playing with products. I literally use different products to make my hair stay curly and not frizzy, depending on the weather. Sometimes it's Aveda Be Curly, on humid days, it can be Bumble & Bumble curly hair leave-in. I also have a Keratin, which is expensive but worth it. But you may want to wait if your breast feeding. I'm pregnant now and haven't gotten one in awhile ( you update it about every 5 months or so)and my hair, when curly looks crazy. Which means that I end up going to get it professionally blown out. Which I don't recommend.

I have frizzy/wavy/dry hair. I use to flat iron it EVERYDAY. now that DD is here I definitely don't have time for that so it's pretty much au naturale now which I prefer so much more! Basically I never blow dry it, use Moroccan oil or a leave in conditioner and let it air dry in a braid. Then once it's dry I touch up the top layer frizzy curls with a straightener (I keep it curled).

I also only wash my hair once or twice a week

My hair sounds quite like yours. I am interested in hearing the responses you get because my hair is kind of a disaster.

Due to an impressive melting pot of heritage, I have some nutso hair. Lol. Its super thick, a mixture of smaller waves and fat curls and it leans more to the dry/coarse side. Its about shoulder blade length at the moment. I dont like to heat style tons because it damages easily and it prone to breakage and split ends.

I feel like I should probably treat it better than I do. The hard water here and being pregnant/postpartum has really taken a toll on it in the past 2 years. I feel like I really need to change up what im doing.

So, share your hair care routines and products with me! Especially moisturizing products. How often do you wash? Heat style? What products do you for for what and when/how often?
