I am a better shot with a rifle than with a handgun, but it's just a matter of learning the technique and putting in some time practicing. The suggestions for a concealed carry course are great! Log some hours at the range until you feel comfortable with it. I'd say get a feel for it before you take your CC course--the class is considered an "intermediate" level course as it assumes you already have basic handgun knowledge. I have never shot a gun in my life to tell you the truth! DH and my dad go to the shooting range probably once a month, and DH says he wants me to go one of these times to practice. I've shot it and loaded it at the gun range but I'm a terrible, TERRIBLE shot and think i would benefit from both an official gun safety course and someone other than my husband trying to teach me.<br /> Have any of you taken any gun safety/shooting lessons? Any resources you'd recommend out there? Thanks!</p> <p>PS: Edited to add...I'm pregnant, so I highly doubt I will be shooting guns anytime in the next 3 months or so. So right now education is the first step. </p>
