I think kids should have books with a variety of lead characters. So big yes to the book!

@photojane: haha, well you can pretty much guarantee my response to anything along the lines of "is this too girly" will be a big fat no  But this really wouldn't make me blink as questionable - I say go for it. Now... you need my address for a party invite, right :silly:

@scg00387: YES. It has been impossible trying to find gender neutral ladybug things! I get that it has "lady" in the name, but c'mon. I actually thought of you when I was asking this question - I was hoping you'd respond, because I need some reassurance before I pull the trigger.

You can probably guess my response, which is yes I'd love this book for my son! He has books with both little boys and girls. I was just telling my Mom how funny it is that most bugs are "BOY" while butterflies and ladybugs are "GIRL" typically. Society is weird!

And, I LOVE that favor idea. So cute!

(I didn't know what board to post this on, so I'm just putting it under parties since it related to Sadie's party!)

I have been trying to figure out a favor for Sadie's lovebug (Valentine's/ladybug) party, and I am trying to avoid sending the little ones home with bags of junk that the parents will hate. I think I've decided on Ladybug Girl board books. I'm super excited over them -- I think they're incredibly cute, and fit well with our theme.

But... a little worried that the boy mamas will think its weird! I would definitely read them to my son, but I'm not sure what other people would think. What do y'all think? Too girly? Okay for boys?

In case you're not familiar...
