I would wax before if I could for sure! I'm definitely not for shaving and definitely not for a stranger shaving me! But that's just me...

@travelgirl1: I was totally waxed before mine. My OB went to shave and goes "oh, I don't even need to do anything here. Great!" I laughed. I know they don't care, but I did. I "maintained" all the way through

Thanks so much ladies!!!

@Foodnerd81: Ahhhh, good idea! I'll get on that tonight, but maybe I'll use scissors, bit scared of anything electric when I can't see!!!

@yoursilverlining: No, the lady who waxed me before always told me not to put anything on it so maybe that's where I'm going wrong!

@BabyBruins: Yeah I wish I could make the nurse's day like that! I think she'll have to shave it though : (

@Mrsbells: Weird set of clippers???? They were okay though, right? It wasn't like a Sweeny Todd razer blade or anything? Ha ha.

@lolabee: I haven't, but good idea, I'll try that next time!

Have you tried sugaring? I also get really bad red bumps/ingrowns from waxing. I've had much better luck with sugaring, seems to be less harsh and I barely have any bumps, minus a few right around underwear line.

The nurses shaved me. Especially with my twins I was so huge there was no way I could do anything in that area.

I also was induced and ended up with a c-section, the nurse shaved me with a really weird set of clippers. They dont really care if your shaved down there or not, so I wouldnt worry about it

I happened to get waxed 1 week before I had an unexpected c-section. Just before we went into the operating room, the nurse came in and said, "I need to shave you." and I told her I had just gotten waxed and she said, "Awesome!"
I got the impression that they are willing and able to do it, but happy if they don't have to. I was happier during my recovery that it was all gone.

Totally waxed before being induced. Definitely helped with stitches, I could see everything clearly and it healed beautifully.

They will shave you at the incision area regardless or not if you do it. And they don't care how it looks. :P And I can barely remember what it looks like afterwards anyway. :P

I ended up being induced without any advance notice 2 weeks before my due date, so there was NO landscaping done. I hadn't been keeping up with it since I couldn't see anything down there. The nurses and doctors didn't seem to care, and honestly, with everything going on, I ended up not caring either!

Truth time, couldn't reach that area because my bump was all over the place huge. I embraced it and went au-natural... not my proudest moment, but I forgot all about it after she was in my arms!

I agree, just use a trimmer. They shave a lot more than you realize. I'm sure they will shave you no matter what and this way you don't have to worry about getting an infection.

When you've waxed in the past - have you used a good lotion on the area after, and go comando for a day or so? (sorry if TMI, but these things help reduce red bumps after waxing!)

I got waxed prior to my c-section. I wanted the whole area all clear for the procedure and the recovery.

Could you use a trimmer to just cut it down a little, then there is less for them to shave? I can't imagine taking a razor to someplace I can't see.

Did you do any ladyscaping for a c section?

I decided not to wax and I tend to get a lot of red bumps after and didn't want to get an infection...

But I think I read they shave you a bit so they can make the incision below the hairline... So should I shave? Agggh that's going to be so difficult!!

I know people say no one cares in the hospital but I really do so would like to go in a little trimmed - especially if I can avoid a nurse having to shave me!!!

You can tell it's the big things on my mind the day before my section - stretch marks and shaving!!! : )
