@StbHisMrs: Our neighbor had this exact situation! Her two years is almost up now, but it has worked out really well for her - she's doing school online too and loves her schedule. Good luck!

@regberadaisy: I'm hoping to do online and evening classes so that I can study while they're asleep. Thst is if the "no sleeping" phase passes soon. I'm going to set up an appt with an advisor to find out exactly what I need to do. It does say two years online though. I think that they do midterm checks to make sure you're really taking courses.

@blackbird: I'm wanting to get into real estate appraisal. After two years of qualifying education you have to a two year apprenticeship, then I'll be an independent contractor and able to set my own hours!

@jhd: @Mama Bird: Thank You! I was getting burnt out working for empty promises that resulted in a deadend job :meh: The experience I gained I think will help me in this new career.

Just curious because I've been laid off twice and had thought about going back to school for a teaching license. For us we wouldn't be able to afford putting the girls in daycare and paying tuition. Do you have family who can watch your kids while you're in school?
Also in NY State it's good for one year up to x amount then you have to reapply. Is it automatically waived in your state because you will be in school?

I'm glad the lay off was a good thing for you! Lol

My boss retired in the 31st of December, and the guy who purchased the agency is bringing in his own staff, so I got laid off. I'm ok with that because the girls aren't in daycare now! I'm able to claim unemployment and it's so difficult! When I met with them on Thursday, they told me I can go back to school and keep benefits for two years. I'm kind of excited, I've been waiting for the fight time to do this.
Seems like something was always keeping me from school.
