@cmomma17: @PurplePeony: urgh! I hate having to do some arm twisting but it looks like I might have to. I will check out my lease and it seems that I can file a complaint under local ordinances if the ll does nothing.... thank you!

Google "tenant's rights laws" for your state and look for a section on habitability. It should have information concerning mold and what the landlord's responsibility is. Every state is different, and some cities have additional ordinances, so it's hard to know what specific laws pertain to you. If you get nowhere with your LL, look for a local tenant's organization, which can provide you with good resources and assistance.

What does your lease say? I had this issue in an apartment years ago (after flooding due to pipes bursting) and it was covered in the lease. But I had to push to get the company that owned the property to do anything. We called the VP and quoted local renters rights laws.

We have a large patch of black mold by our patio sliding door. We are renting and I told the management company it had to be addressed last year when I was pregnant. They did not do anything. I have tried various forms of mold elimination and that nasty sucker crap is still growing.
Lo is now fairly mobile and I am even more concerned.
I would think they have some obligation to do something about this. Thoughts? Thanks in advance...!
