@travellingbee: I am right there with you with everything you said!! My reflux has been awful lately and I'm beyond uncomfortable. Had my 36 week appt today. I'm almost 2 cm dilated but cervix is still very high and closed. If baby doesn't come before, I will likely be induced 12/29. We are in the home stretch my friend!!!

Bumping this very old thread because I just needed to vent about how crappy I feel right now at 36 weeks. Baby is still so high and my ribs hurt. My back and feet and hands are killing me. I have terrible reflux, and most of all I am BEYOND exhausted. Like I feel like I have to prop my eyes open. I only have 9 more days of work and I am stressed about how much I have to get done, but don't have the energy to do. :( Ugh-- this last month is the worst!

@pastemoo: Now we're on the last 2 weeks of pregnancy. I think if we survived the past 2, we can survive the last remaining days. My new mantra: 14 days remaining, 24 days max. (if my OB waits until 10 days post-EDD to induce.)

I think the worst part about the last 4 weeks was the mental part -- just tapping my foot and waiting to go into labor, but not knowing when it would happen. In terms of discomfort, I don't remember things getting much worse beyond 36 or 37 weeks... but I was already very uncomfortable already at that point. Luckily I was able to work from home for the final 3 weeks, which was such a lifesaver for me!

@pastemoo: 37, apparently, and they allow one extra week.

@emahlee: Here's your partner- my feet are horrendous at this stage, the swelling doesn't actually go down completely overnight now. And had a hint of it in hands yesterday, had to take off my wedding ring just in case- I really don't want it cut off if the swelling becomes an issue! Also echo you on the stiff fingers- mine are all kinds of tingly and uncomfortable at night now. Silly little ailments, in ways, but very annoying!

I've just entered my 36th week as well and am feeling pretty good so far. I've been lucky and haven't been inflicted with any back aches, exhaustion, indigestion, or lack of sleep. But my feet have been swelling and by the end of the day I don't know where my calves and ankles start. Also, the last couple of mornings, I woke up with really stiff fingers. What's that all about?

If I remember correctly (its been 3 years), it's just more of the same. A little less sleep, a lot more effort to do things but the discomforts are relatively similar. At least, it was for me.
BUT, I am also 36 weeks and I know what you mean! The heartburn is horrible lately!

I'm feeling pretty good over all with moments of sheer exhaustion/discomfort mixed in. Been trying to do things to stimulate labor but not usafely make the baby come. Now at 37 weeks I feel comfortable going into labor, just don't know when!

The anxiousness is what is killing me. Sleep has been OK for me aside from having to get up to pee constantly! Had some horrible heartburn this weekend and also urges to poo constantly! But still am quite constipated so it's really frustrating!

I hope my water breaks because I feel like I'm out of touch with my body in a lot of ways. Like I won't know what regular contractions feel like and being 30 minutes from the hospital I don't want to be sent away like so many women always say!

I agree with @honeybee! I thought there was no way I'd get to the point where I'd wish for labor but by 38 weeks I was so ready to not be pregnant and I couldn't wait to actually see our baby! I was also convinced I was going to be late, so I was assuming I still had 3 or 4 weeks to go at that point. I ended up going labor 5 days before my due date. Thank goodness!

Today's my due date, and I would say physically, the last 4 weeks have been about the same. I haven't gotten any new symptoms, but the ones I have got slightly worse.

The thing that is worse for me is the mental stuff. Literally anyday she could be here. I am over analyzing everything going on with my body wondering if it's early labor! My husband is so anxious that he's barely sleeping, and everytime I call him he thinks I'm in labor!!

@winniebee: I will never be any more or any less ready.... does that even make sense?
I still have things to do, but I know I won't do some of them until after he arrives.

And I'm sleeping SO HORRIBLY. I keep getting advice to"not look at the clock" and not "get up if I don't need to"
1. no clock in the room
2. sorry, my hands hurt so badly i can't possibly sleep through it
or, alternate 2. sorry, i actually do have to pee, i waited awhile to see, but there's no getting around it

@blushink: :( Sucks huh? I keep wondering--if I can't handle this, is there any way I can make it through labor? Or, alternately--if all this is so bad, how will I know if it's labor?

@regberadaisy: Me too. I hope you get to meet her very very soon!

@lemondrop: That's promising. :)

I'm 34w4d today and beginning to be grateful they won't let me go past 38w. (twins). The last week, I'm so useless and uncomfortable! I've had friends say they reckon the last month is horrible to get you into the mindset that any kind of labour is preferable to continuing being huge!
The baba growth did accelerate and I feel v heavy. Getting in and out of bed is real work at this stage! I had awful groin pain yesterday- actually completely couldn't walk for an hour until it passed. I can't figure out why I haven't had rib pain or heartburn, but I'm definitely not complaining about the lack.
Roll on D day, we're getting there!

I will be 39 weeks tomorrow! So crazy to think about.
My incessant rib cage pain is pretty much constant now. The only relief is standing up. So....which means sleep is no longer than 2 hours at a time between getting up to pee and getting up because of the rib pain. My body preparing me for night time breast feeding??? :)
The other night I actually only woke up once!! But paid for it because my lower back was killing me!

Def getting super uncomfortable, walking up stairs has me out of breath completely.

Cannot wait to meet our baby girl by surpringsly still not at the "get the the heck outta me!!!" stage.
Wondering every day if today is the day we meet her :)

@winniebee: :) Very exciting!
@miss-spunkin: That's what I'm scared of. We have a very very busy week coming up at work and I pretty much run around all day and talk to people and get up and sit down and get up and sit down and get up and walk over here and over there--and I am just getting SO TIRED. Hopefully I can do it, I would be really embarrassed if I had to quit work early.

The last week was one of the most uncomfortable feelings I've ever had. Lala was sitting on a nerve that was causing intense back pain. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, my stomach was constantly upset. The baby's head was so low that I thought she was going to fall on the ground at any point. People say delivery is hard... and it is... but it was also sweet, sweet relief! No baby blues for me. I was thrilled to feel human again!

The General Manager at my office always says that, before a woman gives birth, she has to get uncomfortable and frustrated enough that the baby thinks it's a better idea to be on the outside than stay inside. :-)

I've found this to be pretty true for me; just about the time I get so uncomfortable and start thinking I can't stand to be pregnant anymore, I go into labor and get sweet relief!

For me so far at 38 weeks, heartburn has not gotten any worse than it was before, things that have gotten worse for me are a little more swelling, pressure down low and lots more Braxton hicks. That and I'm just a lot more ready and anxious for little one to come! But in general, I wouldn't say 38 weeks I feel much worse than I did at 36. Hang in there yay you're getting closer!
