FWIW, my husband was exactly the same way. Took him a few months to get really engaged in TTC, but he was thrilled when we were successful. It's just not *real* for men the way it can be for us ladies. </p> <p>Regarding your cycle, what you will experience when you stop the pill is a withdrawal bleed, not a real period. That said, you should count your first day of bleeding as CD1 because you could very well ovulate your first cycle off the pill (I did). So I'm really no help on that aspect! I had my "period" right away you know when I stopped taking the pill, and then it was 61 days until I had my next period (off the pill). I told DH and he sounded a little disappointed. I asked him if he's ready for this and he replied, "I don't think any guy is ever really ready for their girl to go off the pill..." I said, well maybe some more than others and he laughed and hugged me reassuringly. I think he's a little freaked out. Hopefully he'll be a little excited soon...</p> <p>Anyway! I've started reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility, will start charting this coming cycle in hopes that I'll start ovulating sooner rather then later. Also started taking folic acid a couple weeks ago and going for pre-natal bloodwork tomorrow.<br /> Any other suggestions of what to do leading up to and starting TTC? I'm gonna confirm with DH, but I think we'll NTNP and start really TTC come Jan or Feb. </p>
