@sarac: This. LOL. I am going to be a useless mess when my maternity leave starts next week.

Things as simple as sitting on the couch watching tv would be amazing!

My LO has always been one to be on the move. Even when she was a newborn she had reflux so she wanted whoever was holding her (usually me) to be standing up and bouncing. Now that she is older she is always walking but with assistance so I'm always right there walking with her. I swear, I haven't just sat down since she was born! Other than naps of course.

I remember that pressure to enjoy your last days of freedom! Sleep as much as you want! Your life will never be the same!!! I was so sick of hearing it. You're huge and pregnant, you probably can't sleep at all. You're dying to meet your baby. You're probably at least a little nervous about giving birth and then having a damn baby to keep alive. Your life is about to be hugely different and it's awesome and scary as hell.

Anyway, you should totally try to do all those things, but don't feel bad about failing. I think I'd go see a movie, go have a long dinner, sit around doing nothing. All that stuff you won't do again for a while. Enjoy how easy your baby is to take care of now. Take a bath or read a book and bask in the joy of no one begging you for a NANA and some OGURT every five minutes. Ok, now this is just about me.

I second freezer meals! I was a week overdue and starting to get super impatient. It helped to keep me busy and it was a lifesaver once baby was here to have all those dinners handy. I, for one, didn't want to do that much social stuff at the end...it was July and so HOT and I just felt like a whale everywhere I went.

You could start the baby book. Or maybe make a pregnancy scrap book. Is there anything you want to get done around the house? You could do some organizing. Read books.

congratulations! I would definitely catch up with some girl friends because those were the people I didn't see for a long while after giving birth. Also, I made some plans with mommy friends to have lunch with baby during my maternity leave. They actually followed up with me during my leave and forced me to leave the house, and I was so grateful for that.

I have maybe a few more weeks of being pregnant and relatively responsibility free. However, I am feeling more impatient than ever to meet and play with our little girl, I am just so excited to meet her!! But I am also worried I am not taking advantage of these precious last days of freedom.

What do you suggest I do to take advantage of this time? I know about the usual suggestions such as going on dates w/ DH, eating out, pampering myself, watching movies.... and of course it's too late to travel anywhere.

Any other out of the ordinary suggestions on what to do with the time?
