Maybe some socks in a bigger size and some soft sole shoes for when baby is cruising? Or maybe some spoons and a sippy etc for when baby is ready for solids?

I agree on bigger clothes and maybe some toys? My LO loved the Fisher Price kick piano starting at 3mo. Soft blocks and balls were also things we played with in the early days.

A practical item might be JJ cole stroller blanket.

I would say no sleepers. My son is almost 1 month old and literally EVERYONE has gotten us long sleeve footed sleepers. I have about a million of them. Great except we live in south Florida and he runs really hot so I don't really see us using them much. I have probably 10 NB size sleepers he has never worn and he's outgrown them already.

If I was having a shower now, I would love more diapers and bigger size clothes (like tops and pants, not just onesies)! Again for some reason everyone loves to buy wintery clothes - we have so many long pants and long sleeve or sweatshirt-type outfits for our little guy... not practical in our climate.

Like others said, she probably already has items like a wipes warmer and swaddles. The medicine kit is a good idea as are diapers and wipes which are always needed. Or, depending on your climate, how about a cute winter hat?

2 months in, I'd go with bigger-sized clothing, sleep sacks (for when they're ready to swaddle-wean, if they're swaddling), or a sickness kit. I felt like we were always running out to get more Tylenol! Depending on where you live, if the winters are dry, a humidifier was HUGE for us - maybe one of the Crane Adorable humidifiers?

I just bought about $200 worth of stuff for a work shower, and several parents commented that I picked out useful stuff! (I mostly bought things that I found helpful with my son.)

Here is the list. If you can get a Buy Buy Baby 20% off coupon then the Skip Hop activity mat will be in your price range. I think I got one when my son was around 3-4mo and he loved it.

Two months in she probably has all the muslin swaddlers she needs. What about simple cotton jammies in multiple sizes. They work pretty much regardless of season because AC in summer means you often still need full jammies and in winter they can layer under a fleece swaddle or sleepsack. Also I've done the sickness kit and gotten grateful texts a month or two later!

The sickness kit is a great idea!
Depending on how close you are with her, you could assemble a postpartum kit for her. I made one for a good friend and she loved it, because it wasn't stuff that people would buy her. I think I got a straw waterbottle, chocolate, Larabars, a bottle of witch hazel, some Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple cream, a bottle of Advil, and a Starbucks gift card (maybe some other things too!)

I second/third the suggestion of sickness type stuff. Things no one thinks to buy unless they need them and then they don't want to be running to the store. Snot sucker, saline spray, teething tablets, baby tylenol, diaper rash cream. And if you know she's planning on BFing some nipple cream and breast oads. Put it in a cute basket or something with some swaddling blankets and I think it would be perfect!

I would skip the wipes warmer. I don't think many people use them. Sickness kit is useful. Are they registered anywhere? Older size clothes are nice...we got very little beyond 6-9 months from showers.

If she doesn't use a wipes warmer now at 2 months she never will, but clothes for later are a great idea! You could also do a basket of pharmacy items like Tylenol, diaper cream, cotton balls.. all those small practical items you never seem to have when you need them. Someone did this for me and I thought it was great. ETA basically what twodoghouse said while I was still typing :silly:

So I'm a terrible friend and completely forgot that a friend's baby shower is on Sunday and haven't gotten a gift yet. We have showers after baby is born so baby girl is already 2 months old. I want to spend around $50-75. I was thinking about buying a pack of muslin swaddlers, pack of washcloths, a cute outfit for when she's older and someone suggested a wipes warmer...
Are these all something that are really useful? I hate being the person that buys something a person will never use. Would appreciate some help mamas!!
