I bought a few pairs of expensive maternity jeans, but I consider them a necessity. I figure dark wash jeans don't really go out of style and I can wear them through my next pregnancy and will probably need them for a while postpartum.

As a splurge, I bought myself a pair of ridiculously expensive boots that I kept in the box for weeks. I felt too guilty to actually wear them--especially after we bought our stroller and it was almost twice as expensive as that. I ended up returning them on the last day allowed. I don't know what I was thinking getting them in the first place. I blame "baby brain."
Thanks goodness I came to my sense! Getting ready for a baby really changes how you think about budget things out.

I still splurge for things that I want. The stuff has changed, that's all. Just because I am a mom doesn't mean I my personal needs are put 100% on the back burner.

To answer the question, we went on our last big vacation when I was 7 weeks pregnant, to Egypt. I am currently getting some laser hair removal, it's pretty pricey where I live.

We took a two week trip to Italy and France a few weeks ago as our last big trip together (I was 23 weeks). It's something we've always wanted to do and I'm so glad we went! Granted walking 10+ hours a day was super tiring, I certainly had no trouble sleeping as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I have that problem now and I don't even have any kids yet.
I did end up buying a Kindle for myself about a month ago. It was hard to make the decision to get something for myself instead of something that we needed.

Our biggest splurges are definitely our vacations. We went to St. Barts for 4 nights in the spring and will be going to St. Lucia for 4 nights close to Xmas. My parents are watching the LO. I think there is nothing we need more these days than vacations so I am really grateful we can do this since we don't have anyone around the rest of the year to give us a hand.

Everytime I go shopping whether at the store or online, my session never ends without me buying something for DD, even if that wasn't the intention.

The other day I was looking for a winter Jacket for husband and for the baby when I came across an adorable Burberry puffer that I could get a great deal on. On a whim, husband just bought it for me! I was originally just set on getting a nice affordable jacket from uniqlo.

I used to be able to buy whatever I wanted, but having a child really puts into perspective what you can't splurge on yourself anymore. Surprisingly I've taken pretty well to it. But I'm glad I have such an adoring husband.

So what was the last thing you or your SO splurged on yourself? How have your spending habits changed after parenthood! For example, I make it a rule never to pay retail again!!
