I also wake my daughter up from her nap to keep her on schedule, but I know some babies don't do well with that. My daughter usually looks a little annoyed when I wake her up, but she never cries or throws a tantrum, so it's worth it in our case.

I always choose to wake DS up so bedtime doesn't shift. It can make for a grumpy toddler because he didn't get his full nap, but I'd rather deal with that then a middle of the night play or cry session.

If you put your older baby/ young toddler down for a late nap because something through off your schedule, do you wake them so that they don't get even further off schedule (like bedtime) or let them sleep? What if they sleep through supper? Or what if they wake up in the middle of the night because you let them sleep? How do you adjust?

I had to put DS down for a nap really late because of a necesssary diaper trip and a completely unnecessary visit feom my ILs who got him too riled up. Now it's forty minutes to bedtime and not a peep from my son. Do I let him sleep? Wake him up for supper? Let him stay up late since its the weekend? What would you do?
