Congrats on sticking with it mama! I had the exact same issue and was absolutely devastated. Around 2-3 weeks I turned a corner and was shield-free around 5 weeks. I love hearing these stories!! My daughter was a late nurser, as well. I thought our relationship was going to be all pump to bottle feed and eventually we made it work, as well. Couldn't latch without a shield and even that was hit or miss!<br /> Ultimately I gave in and gave bottles but nursed or tried to as much as he would tolerate!</p> <p>This past week at 6 weeks he has latched with no shield and has 2-3 great sessions a day!!!!</p> <p>Just wanted to say it CAN get better!!!!!
