@hilsy85: @mdf106: I think being extra tired definitely worked in our favor, but I wonder how it would go night after night? I feel like she would just get overtired.

@Sapphiresun: She will go down pretty much whenever we do her bedtime routine, but lately has been waking up 1 hr later. I just have to rock her back to sleep but then she's up again in 45 minutes! And so on for the rest of the night.

@Foodnerd81: We started going longer between naps recently too & she still wakes up at the 45 min mark, but she goes down a lot easier. Maybe I am onto something here...

I think you just have to do what works for you! Not all babies follow the textbook :) Maybe she just needed to be really really tired?

I have a six month old that totally refuses to have a bedtime earlier than 9:30. So we kind of just embrace it since every sleep training method we tried resulted in her staying awake until 9:30 then passing out on her own.

It is certainly possible! Not every baby is textbook "earlier bedtime for later waketime."

LO sleeps better when he is more tired. He has trouble putting himself back to sleep if he gets too much sleep.

Not at night, but during the day I had to start spacing her naps out more to get out of the cat nap cycle. I would say try it-- the worst that happens is you have a few bad nights of sleep and realize it won't work, the best that happens is you figure out a way to get more sleep!

Hmmmm. The opposite has actually been true for us, but I say do what works!

We had one of the better nights we've had in several weeks. She still woke up a lot but twice she was able to put herself back to sleep without more than a couple minutes of fussing. The only thing we did differently was put her down over an hour later, because there were tornado warnings so we had to go downstairs. This runs counter to everything I've heard! Anyone have success correcting sleep issues with LESS sleep? (She still woke up at 7:30am,)
