@winter_wonder: @MrsSCB: @Purpledaisy: I started giving a small tub of it as an add-on to my baby gifts to girlfriends--they're like, "is this supposed to be funny?" and I'm like, "no". being able to leave the stained clothing for a while without having to drop everything and wash immediately is nice, plus, half the time it happens at daycare and the blowouts will sit there for hours anyway. the only complaint I have is if you don't put rubber gloves on it kind of destroys your hands.

Oxy clean powder! I soak in hot water with oxy clean and I've managed to get every stain out. Even ones that I have been left for days after a blow out.

If you are at all interested I would say that using gdiapers really reduces the amount of blowouts. I use disposables in the early weeks and would have blowouts every now and then. Once I switch to gdiapers I don't have any. I used them with my daughter until she potty trained at 24 months and am using them with my son (almost 12 weeks).

I use the flushable inserts (not the cloth insert) and it sits in a liner that snaps into a gpant. Bc the liner gussets at the ends where the flushable insert sits, the poo never blows out past that part. Not sure if this makes sens... bc a disposable diaper just sits flush against a baby's back there's nothing to stop a big or forceful poo and it just slides out the back of the diaper where with the gdiapers the liner stops the poo and it can't escape past the liner.

I rinse in cold water and rub Fels Naptha laundry bar into the stain. I scrub it by hand and rinse it out, rub some more of the bar into it, and then throw in the hamper. I've yet to have something not come out that way.

Maybe check you're using the right diaper size. This is embarrassing, but when my son was born I didn't realize there's a size 0 and put him in size 1 diapers. He wasn't a big baby. I did so much laundry every day. One time I had to change him, then wash every single thing I was wearing - he even got my socks and slippers...

DD was a small baby too, but by the time she was born I'd discovered my mistake and put her in size 0. Maybe two blowouts in her entire first year. I felt so dumb about not realizing this sooner :meh:

Also sometimes different diaper brands fit differently.

I've had good luck using oxiclean powder in hot water for a soak before washing. I've even found it to work if I only did oxiclean spray the first time (I find soak better than spray, but typically spray as it's so easy) and it didn't come all the way out.

We had really good luck with the Babies R US brand stain spray. It even got paint out of one of my husband's shirts! If it was a bad blowout, I would rinse it out in the sink, spray with stain spray, and wash in the washing machine with hot water. Some bad stains required another spray and trip through the washing machine, but most of our stains came out.

oxyclean powder is a MIRACLE. I haven't tried the spray, I'm sure it's great, too. I've left *badly* blown-out clothes heaped in a plastic grocery bag for days before I got around to washing them (I know, gross) and every single article of baby clothing is 100% clean, not even a hint of stain on anything.

I have a dedicated mixing bowl I use in the sink for this--I put the clothes in with scorching hot water and a generous amount of powder, let it soak for an hour or so, scrub the stains out, if they're still there, rub the powder directly onto the fabric, dump out the old water and do new hot water, let it sit 15 more minutes, re-scrub. it works every time and doesn't even seem to be too hard on the fabric.

Sun. Hands down. We do cloth diapers and the breastmilk-poop stains came out like magic every time we dried them in the sun. Don't bother with scrubbing, you don't need to put yourself through that - that's the great part about breastmilk poop, it just comes right out.

a few things that i have found that work:
rinse excess poo with cold water
make a paste out of warm water and oxyclean and rub it into the stain, let it sit,
later if I think about it I'll soak in warm/hot water and oxyclean until I get around to doing a load of laundry

oxiclean spray (not the stick) works well in a pinch but for serious poo I use the paste method.

for really stubborn stains, I'll rub a fels-naptha bar on the stain and rewash. the trick is to not dry the clothes (so catch the heavy stains before you toss in the dryer)

BioKleen Bac-Out spray!!!! I bought it for cloth diapers, but use it on the kids' clothes, too. I spray the Bac-Out on the stain as soon as possible, then Oxyclean right before throwing it into the laundry. If that doesn't work, dry it in the sun (if feasible).

Rinse right away if possible and wash in hot water and dry in the sun, not the dryer. If you can't dry in the sun and can still see a stain, rewash it but whatever you do, don't put it in the dryer as that will set in the stain.

I cloth diapered so I'm very familiar with this. The key is rinsing the poop, washing in hot water, and let it dry in the sun (even if it is 40 degrees, let it sit outside for a few hours). The sun will bleach it right out.

Oxyclean stain spray is a miracle.

Also, if you're having daily blowouts you might need to size up in diapers! Don't always follow the size recommendations on the package. Sizing up often fixes the blowout issue.

The best thing we have found is to scrub right away. Then wash but dont dry and put in the sun if needed.

My son is exclusively breastfed and he blows out his diaper nearly daily. The yellow poop stains are pervasive and I can't get them clean. It is ruining his entire wardrobe and I'm afraid to put him in his nicer outfits. What is the secret??? If people can get red wine out of white shirts, surely someone has figured out the secret of infant poop.
