They trim trees and shrubs as needed. When they trim our privacy hedge that's an extra charge, but that only happens every 2-3 months. Our lawn grows so fast that I think there will still be times that we will need to mow midweek. We use the same company that our HoA is contracted with and for that reason they gave us a discount. They are coming April through November. We don't have a lot of grass (the back yard is shaded and either only grows moss or is covered in patio) so they only charge $20 a mow (but they also run a leaf blower to clean up debris in the backyard if we leave it accessible). </p> <p>I wouldn't want a service that charges per week. Sometimes you need it more than once a week, and if there's a drought you need it less. We live CA with not too much yard to mow, but we have lots of trees and rosebushes and what not that need trimming and upkeep. The guy charges about $85 a month and comes weekly, but we keep him on payroll year-round, including the winter when it rains. Its like 110 degrees here in the summer, so that's just brutal for what he charges us. My husband wanted to do it himself and found a good used riding mower quickly so we never had it done. It would take at least 2 hours for him to do the yard on the weekend and I'm pregnant and am not going to be mowing this year. Cleanup was like $120 or something like that (we usually give him $150 since he does a lot of extra things for us). </p> <p>I know other people that use legit companies def pay almost double what we pay. We have a large front yard, 2 skinny side yards and a small back yard and pay $30 per mow, and they come usually every 2 weeks, sometimes it’s every week depending on grass growth. </p> <p>It’s not really mowable without a riding lawnmower. It was so worth it. They use the large commercial mowers and it took them maybe 10 minutes to cut our yard. It takes my husband about two hours with breaks. DH has been doing this but with our yard (3/4) acres, it takes him 2-3 hours on a weekend between trimming and mowing. And we're always the unkept house since we both work full time and the weather doesn't always cooperate to mow on the weekends/nights.</p> <p>Thanks! </p>
