@lemondrop: Thats the weird thing, it isn't big streams, it is a quite a bit of colostrum (like several large drops at a time) for the point of my pregnancy I am at though. Thats why I don't think it is let down pain, because I have never really heard of let down pain starting until the milk comes it.
Thanks for the compliment. I love my job so much, I feel for parents leaving their babies so much, I still can't imagine how hard it is for Moms. They really have to trust us.

Sounds awful! Hope your OB has some helpful advice! I only had drops released until about day 4 after the boy arrived, I never let out streams of anything until my milk came in.

That all being said, I really appreciate what you do for a job, we had bilirubin issues and the newborn nurses were the best!! It sucked to leave my baby, but they made me feel better about it.

@lemondrop: It isn't really buzzy/electrical feeling, but literally like someone is stabbing a knife behind my nipple. I am only 26 weeks, so it seems really early for something like this, but I will definitely ask my OB when I see her on Monday. There really isn't anything to let down yet, just drops. I am sure it is unusual, because most people aren't around a ton of newborns during their pregnancy, but it is a little distressing because it is enough to make me wince.

Check with your doctor of course, but that sounds a lot like letdown to me. Especially since you are around little ones at work. Kind of an electrical "zing" behind your nipples?

I can't say that I ever noticed it before my son was born, but I notice it now that he's here- it is noticeable, but not intense these days if that makes any sense?

So, I have been having some slight leakage from my nipples on both sides for a couple weeks. It isn't enough to need any kind of breast pads or whatnot yet. It happens mostly at work when I am around newborn babies who are hungry (rooting and crying behaviour seems to illicit the leaking mostly).

My question is, do most people have pain when they leak? I get a stabbing pain behind the nipple, and that seems to only happen when I have leaking.

Is this sensation going to lessen/go away? It is really uncomfortable, and I can't imagine how bad it will feel when you add other breastfeeding pain onto it!
