I have this happen a lot with Lansinoh bags when I am defrosting them. I always defrost in a bowl so I don't lose much, but it is really annoying. I never had it happen with Medela ones.

I had that happen a lot, those damn bags. I learned to not just defrost the milk directly on a shelf in the fridge! I would just defrost them in a clean container and use the milk that had leaked out into it.

The laniosh bags always leaked after being thawed. My daycare lady told me medela bags are better. I just defrost in a cup or something to catch the milk :)

I've had Lansinoh bags leak from the side seams on several occasions. I switched to up & up when I ran out of bags because of this issue. I haven't defrosted any of the up & up bags yet but the seams feel sturdier to me.

Oh no! I would seriously cry! I was warming a bottle of milk and it tipped over in the water and lost 1/2 oz - that was enough to upset me :(

Definitely not what you asked, but the Up&Up Target bags are amazing - never had a single problem with them! (And they hold 12.5 oz!)

I've noticed that if you don't freeze the milk flat, it can freeze to a point. And then that point of frozen milk can puncture the bottom of the bag

This just happened to me for the first time. But I figure out of all the Lansinoh bags I've used, just one leaking isn't a bad average. It was one defective bag out of hundreds, I can't complain too much!

I used to use an extra Ziploc outside of the frozen bag in order to defrost it. That way if there was a leak, it would still go inside the clean Ziploc. I reused the Ziplocs a bunch of times because usually there was no leak. Sorry that happened! It is such a bummer!

When our freezer got left open, the bags leaked everywhere. I'm guessing frozen milk seeps it's way into the seams and then creates gaps when it melts.

I think target brand is the sturdiest I've used!

:crying: I've been giving LO a bottle of pumped breast milk here and there. I had a measly 17oz and defrosted my last 2oz today. Just went to make a bottle and most of the bag had leaked into the container I was defrosting the bag in. It wasn't an issue of the bag not sealing tight bc when I lifted the bag the leak was clearly from the bottom.
There was no leak when I filled the bag so I'm not sure what happened. The only thing I can think of is this bag was from an opened box leftover from my pumping days with dd1 over a year ago. But I don't think plastic will "weaken" that fast?

I'm afraid now! Anyone else ever had this happened?
